Supergreen Basil Smoothie

IMG_4687

With this smoothie, I would like to show you how delicious breakfast can be without having any sugar at all. It might be a bit of an adjustment to be eating savory food for breakfast. The upside will be: far more energy and mental focus throughout the day. Your taste buds will adjust as well and sweet breakfasts might not be tasting as good as they once did.

  1. Hi there! I am diabetic and I just found out that I have hashimoto ‘s thyroid disease where I think I was eating healthy. Now it is so difficult for me to know what to really eat for breakfast or dinner. I would like to how how to reverse it. I been doing some research where I stop eating grains . But what is the best fruits and food to eat ? ( breakfast, Dinner)

  2. If you love basil then you will love this recipe. It’s more of a thick cold soup type of food than a typical smoothie. I added kale since I had no parsley or sprouts.

  3. When you say sprouts… what do you mean? Brussel sprouts? Or sprouted things?? Thanks

    • Hi Beth,
She is suggesting something such as broccoli sprouts, alfalfa sprouts, etc. ~HB Team

  4. For the super green smoothie can one can 1/2 and breakfast and rest for snack later or is intent to have 2 servings for breakfast? Due to calories from oil I am checking

    • Hi Tania,

Having 1/2 for breakfast, and the rest for a snack later sounds great. This can also be shared with a friend, or perhaps half the recipe for just one serving.

Let us know what you think of it! =)

      Healthy Regards,
      HB Team

  5. I just made this smoothie and I am totally i love!!! Absolutely DELICIOUS!! Thank you!

  6. Garlic? In a smoothie? Can I add Greek yogurt instead of collagen? I don’t tolerate collagen or any form of protein powders .what are the benefits of this smoothie Is the most important question? Thanks

    • Hi Emma, the garlic is by many of the other strong flavors in this smoothie. We recommend if you need to replace, the collagen, instead of doing a dairy yogurt, try a coconut milk yogurt. You could even make your own homemade one and add that instead. This smoothie contains many nutrients that can be helpful in supporting blood sugar levels, liver detoxification pathways, inflammatory responses and ultimately your hormonal balance. ~HB Support

  7. What is the protein amt in this in grams? Seems very little?
    Thanks. Camille

    • Hi Camille, I don’t have the exact protein amount, but you are correct, it would be low as is. You could add a greek yogurt or a healthy, clean protein powder to get more protein in this smoothie.
