Here is another recipe using simple seeds to be enjoyed for its healing medicinal qualities.
Seed Rotation can be used by anyone experiencing symptoms of estrogen dominance (can be menopausal women, too)
Here is the key idea: Seed rotation can be used to boost estrogen levels in the first part of your cycle (called the follicular phase) and progesterone levels in the second part (called the luteal phase).
Women in perimenopause and menopause will also benefit from this method.
Alternate using the luteal seeds (sesame and sunflower) and the follicular seeds (pumpkin and flax) depending on where you are in your cycle.

How would it taste without garlic as that is no good for SIBO?
Please try it without garlic and let us know what you think:) ~ Jeanne HB Team
Hi. I did it and it’s great, even without garlic. Enjoy it!
What about women who are well over menopause (mid-70s). Should we emphasize the luteal-phase seeds, sesame and sunflower?
HI Raffia, Women that are past menopause can still use both estrogen balancing seeds, and well as progesterone seeds. The estrogen seeds will help to boost the good estrogens and clear the dirty estrogens, HB Support
How would you determine a cycle?
If you are cooking for a family, do you think this will be good for males/children? Or is this somethg only females should be eating?
HI Priya, yes, anyone can eat this. Enjoy! HB Team
Can tahini paste be used instead of sesame seeds?
HI Susan, Yes, you could use tahini paste, just make sure it has the cleanest ingredients possible, and no fillers. We do like to use freshly ground seeds, as provide the most optimal nutrition. Enjoy! Jen HB Team
I make a big batch and freeze in ice cube trays for later uses.
That is a fantastic idea! Thank you for sharing.
Hi.so this is hormone balancing right? And how manytbsp do i hv to tk everyday.
You mention it is good for women in peri-menopause & menopause, so as the periods are so irregular (you never know when one is coming along, so luteal/follicular phase not easy to judge) or have stopped how do you recommend using the seeds??
Hey Julie,
We offer recommendations in the full seed rotation guide, including following the moon cycles.

What about Fibroid is this recommended? As I thought lin seed are no good for Fibroids and Estrogen dominance?
Hi Petra. For a small minority of women, flaxseed may have a paradoxical effect. We share more about this here: https://hormonesbalance.com/articles/flaxseed-good-or-bad-for-estrogen-dominance/
If you are avoiding flaxseed, you can use just pumpkin seed during the follicular stage.

Please can you offer substitutes for cilantro. I get very ill from so any ideas for substitutions is much appreciated.
Hi Lalita,
You could increase the amount of parsley and dandelion greens, and remove cilantro entirely. Another green I like to use in pesto is arugula. Radish, beet, or carrot greens are also great in pesto!

Thank u so much! What about women already in menopause ?! When do I use the pumpkin seed or sunflower seed etc!?
Appreciate your advice
Hi Fatima,
For women in menopause, it is still recommended to follow a 2 week cycle for seed rotation. Using the lunar cycle as a guide can be helpful.
Day 1-14 (New moon) – flax and pumpkin seeds
Day 15-28 (Full moon) – sesame and sunflower seeds
I hope this information helps. You might be interested in the Seed Rotation Starter Kit for more information: https://hormonesbalance.com/articles/how-to-use-seed-rotation-to-rebalance-your-menstrual-cycle/
