If you’ve ever noticed your hair feeling different lately — maybe it seems drier, thinner, or not quite as full as it used to be — you’re not alone. Especially if you’re navigating perimenopause, menopause, or thyroid imbalances like hypothyroidism, your hair may be quietly reflecting the shifts happening inside your body.
Hair changes can feel deeply personal. And while they may show up on the outside, they often start with what’s happening within.
Today, I want to gently guide you through a simple, nourishing ritual that’s been helping me support my hair and my overall sense of calm. It involves one of the most timeless, grounding oils in the natural wellness world: Castor Oil, and the Queen of the Thrones® Beauty Hair Wrap.

Five Causes of Hair loss
Cause #1 – Low Thyroid Function
More common than you think and often overlooked by many medical practitioners. Dr. Marisol and I explain more here.
Cause #2 – High or Low Estrogen Levels
Fluctuations in estrogen levels can impact your follicles – learn more in this video.
Cause #3 – Heavy Metals
Found in your water, amongst others, impact every aspect of the body including hair loss.
Cause #4 – Yeast Overgrowth
Aka “candida overgrowth”, this condition can also contribute to hair loss. Find out what the symptoms are.
Cause #5 – Malabsorbtion
Often the result of a low stomach acid. We explain in this video on how to improve your stomach acid and boost hair health.
These are real experiences. And while they might feel frustrating, they’re also signals from your body asking for more care, attention, and softness.

A Ritual Rooted in Nourishment, Not Perfection
What if we stopped trying to “fix” our hair and started listening to it instead?
That mindset shift changed everything for me.
Instead of jumping into yet another “miracle” serum or supplement, I began a ritual using Queen of the Thrones® Organic Castor Oil and their Beauty Hair Wrap — a simple practice to support my scalp, my calm, and my self-care.
This ritual isn’t about perfection. It’s about creating a moment of stillness. A chance to get ahead of the changes or start right where you’re at.
Why Castor Oil?
Castor Oil has been used for centuries as part of natural wellness routines. It’s rich in fatty acids, including ricinoleic acid, as well as glycerin and vitamin E that support deep moisture4 and rich nourishment for your skin and scalp.
For so many women, the journey to healthier-looking hair isn’t just about what’s on the surface—it’s about going deeper, to the very root.
Think of your scalp like soil. When it’s dry, depleted, or ignored, the roots beneath can’t flourish. But when you nurture the soil—hydrate it, tend to it with care, and feed it with what it needs—you create the ideal environment for renewal.
That’s what makes applying Castor Oil to the scalp such a powerful practice.
It’s more than just hydration—it’s a ritual that:
- Deeply nourishes from the root up
- Invites relaxation through intentional scalp massage5
- Helps restore softness and shine—naturally
When paired with the Beauty Hair Wrap, this practice becomes even more grounding. It holds in the warmth of the oil, allowing deeper absorption, while wrapping you in a clean, comforting embrace—like tucking your roots into rich, fertile earth.
Because true beauty doesn’t start at the ends. It starts at the source.

How I Use It
1-2 times a week, I carve out an hour of my day:
- I part my hair and apply a few drops of Castor Oil directly to my scalp.
- I gently massage it in with my fingertips from root to tips — focusing on breath.
- I wrap my hair in the Beauty Hair Wrap and read, journal, or simply rest.
- One hour later, I wash it out or leave it overnight for deeper nourishment, depending on how my hair feels.
It’s not about instant results. It’s about showing up for yourself.
Over time, I’ve noticed the appearance of less breakage, more softness, and a renewed relationship with my hair.
But more than that, I’ve noticed myself softening too.
Meet Yourself at the Root
This isn’t just about hair. It’s about honoring the transitions our bodies go through, especially in midlife. It’s about creating a small space in your week where you can feel held, nourished, and grounded.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to begin.
Because at the end of the day, it all begins at the root.
