Q: Can this program help me if I had a full/partial hysterectomy or mastectomy?
A: Absolutely! When you lose a gland or an organ, your body still produces other hormones and depends on the health of your gut, liver and sugar levels to metabolize these hormones. Even if you are on a bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, herbal medicine will help your body use these hormones more effectively.
Q: Is it safe to take these herbs when I’m taking bio-identical hormones such as thyroid, estrogen or progesterone?
A: Yes, we have picked safe herbs but it’s always advisable for you to check with your healthcare provider before using them.
Q: Is it safe to take the herbs when I’m on birth control pills?
A: Many of the herbs in the program provide hormonal support and may interfere with the efficacy of the birth control pill. You certainly can make all the skincare recipes. Please check with your healthcare provider before adding any herbs into your life.
Q: What if I don’t have the time to make the recipes?
A: If you want to start better care of your health, I highly recommend that you find the time to practice some of the recipes. We created them so that they are easy and fast to make. Some recipes, like infusions, might require 24 hours, but the preparation only takes minutes and the benefits out weight the little time investment.

Q: Are the herbs used in the program suitable for pregnant and lactating women?
A: This program is NOT for pregnant and lactating women and I encourage working with a practitioner to get support for these special times in a woman’s life.
Q: Is it cheaper to make some of the recipes than buying ready-made?
A: Yes, it is. For example, a body lotion from some of the safe, responsible, organic brands can set you back with $60 to $80. I have done the math; if you make your own (following our body lotion recipes), it will cost you below $20 and you will be left with ingredients to make more products (maybe as gifts for women you care about?).
Q: My lotion/shampoo/soap/cream label says “organic.” Is it safe?
A: It could be but do keep in mind a few things:
Many chemicals are added even to organic brands without being fully tested (yes, the USDA and the FDA allow that) so you don’t really know what you are putting on your body.

  • Unlike food, the body care and cosmetics industries are almost entirely not regulated. Therefore, when you see “organic” on the label it is at the sole discretion of the manufacturer.
  • To responsibly use the “organic” label, the Soil Association requires manufacturers to use 95% organic products excluding water. This is just a guideline which some follow and others do not.
  • Bottom line: To be 100% sure what you put on your skin (of which 60% will get absorbed to your body), it is therefore best to learn to make (at least some) of the skincare products.
