Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 ½ cups water, divided
  • 3 ½ tablespoons unflavored grass-fed gelatin powder
How To Make
  1. Heat apple cider vinegar, grated ginger, honey, ground turmeric, and 1 cup of water in a skillet over medium heat, allowing the mixture to simmer for a few minutes.
  2. Remove the skillet from heat and strain to remove the grated ginger pieces.
  3. Place the remaining ½ cup of water in a small bowl and hydrate by slowly sprinkling in gelatin powder, mixing well.
  4. Add gelatin mixture to the hot apple cider vinegar mixture and whisk until all the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  5. Pour mixture into a 10” x 7” glass baking pan. Cover with plastic wrap and let the chill until solid (at least 4 hours or overnight).
  6. Once solid, cut into small 3-inch squares and serve or store in an airtight container for a week in the refrigerator.
Notes
Note:It’s important to heat the grated ginger at the start to deactivate the enzymes in ginger that will otherwise prevent the gelatin from solidifying.
